Birchwood Treatment Centre

My partner was given funding for both rehab and detox but the funding for the rehab was pulled at the last minute due to,as they said,she wasn’t engaging in enough group activity in the community but my partner,being in active addiction,could not commit to all the groups as people who work in this field should know that commitment is difficult no matter how much you want recovery,due to being ill from drugs. She was given funding for detox and was awaiting a bed. To fund her habit,she was doing illegal things and her keyworker and birchwood knew about this. She has now had her detox pulled because,they say that there are people in there who she has asked to borrow money from but this was not an issue up untill she was arrested. Since finding this out and the offence she was arrested for,they have come up with this lame ass excuse for her not getting her eagerly awaited detox. I think that if this great new place called Birchwood had any other reason to not accept my partner now then they could of at least a)made clear the reason why the funding was pulled, b)told the honest truth that it was because she had been arrested and not because she had borrowed money off a resident who apparently is still there. Why was this not an issue before her arrest and is now only deemed enough if a reason to reject her detox program? She is so ill and I can’t bear to watch her like this. Birchwood is yes,a brand new building that looks great on the outside but lacks a lot of what the drug users need for their recovery. After 6weeks,you still don’t see a one 2 one councillor nor is the medication as requested reduced which was agreed upon admission. I think this is totally out of order and will be taking it further. In my advice,go somewhere else as it seems it’s all about the money and not the welfare if the person entering this establishment. Poor performance Birchwood,pull your finger out.

I was on the phone to a girl named Steph last night and she was absolutely fantastic. I called on behalf of a friend of mine.
She was absolutely brilliant! She was so thorough, helpful and caring. I was on the phone with her for ages and she did not mind me gushing out what I needed to say to her.
She told me the facilities of this centre and explained what help we could have prior to this kind of treatment as well as after. I couldn’t thank her enough. Thank you ?
